Homicide

We’ve worked numerous Homicide cases as the OIC and assisting detectives in Flint, Michigan. It was routine to be called out afterhours for shootings, stabbings, suspicious deaths, etc. where we processed crime scenes, took measurements, interviewed and interrogated suspects and witnesses, collected and analyzed video, social media, took DNA, etc. As the OIC, we’ve sat several trials and have testified numerous times.

Crash Investigations

We’ve investigated over 2500 crashes in the past 27 years and still counting. Jason continues to work part time at the Flint Police Department assisting them with crashes and reconstructions. He has been recognized as an expert in both District and Circuit Courts, and has training and certifications in Crash Reconstruction, EDR I & II, Occupant Kinematics, Human Factors, Energy Methods (CRUSH), Traffic Crash Reconstruction Level II, etc.

EDR Downloads

We have downloaded numerous “black boxes” from crash vehicles, including surrounding police departments when assisting them with investigations. Although “black box” is an unofficial term, the EDR (or ACM – Airbag Control Module) can contain vital information to your case. EDR data is essentially irrefutable evidence in most cases and has become a required element for most crash investigators today.

Auto Theft

We have experience working stolen cars and working with a county-wide multi-agency task force running surveillance on suspects, chop shops, stolen vehicles, etc. These investigations included performing title searches, searching for stolen parts, swapped VINs, interviewing and interrogating suspects, getting warrants, sitting the case, etc.

Robbery

Part of working Homicide also meant responding to all violent crimes, including Robberies. We have experience investigating Bank Robberies, Store Robberies, Street Robberies, Unarmed (Strong Armed) Robberies, etc. We’ve interviewed suspects in witnesses, processed scenes, conducted follow-up investigations, pulled video, etc.

Domestic Violence

We’ve investigated numerous Domestic cases for assaults typically couples living together, or recently broken up and living separately. Collecting evidence in these cases and asking the right questions have always proven to be critical in the success of these cases. We’ve interviewed numerous victims and suspects when it comes to Domestic cases.

Fraud

Fraud can occur in many different areas and we’ve investigated several types including insurance fraud, check fraud, stolen car parts, stolen cars with forged signatures, check frauds and fraudulent checks, stolen identities, embezzlement, and more. Unfortunately, this is an area that is global, and although not all fraud can be easily investigated, some still can, especially at a local level. Let us help you with your case.

Case Review

As the Lieutenant in charge of the Detective and Traffic Bureaus, one of Jason’s responsibilities was to review reports for accuracy, verify officer actions were done correctly, determine what follow up was needed, etc. On average Jason would read literally 10 to 20 new reports every day looking for problems with the case, identify what was needed, etc before they moved on. Let us help you determine the needs of your case.

Background Checks

It’s important to understand the phrase “Background Check” is a general term, it’s not a “catch all.” There are basic background checks like checking a person’s driving record, or verifying their past and current addresses. But they can me more extensive like running a profile history, or criminal check which could be more involved like surveilling, interviewing past employers, neighbors, etc. just depending on what exactly is needed.
